  • Modular Construction – Modular construction is not a technology but a construction method enabled by the latest technologies. It is a method in which buildings are built in bits and pieces in a controlled factory environment first, and then later, they are shipped and assembled at a worksite. As most of the work is being carried out in a factory, robotics and other autonomous equipment are used widely in a factory environment which increases productivity and thereby leads to cost and time effectiveness. Advanced data-centric technology can also be involved in modular construction, such as data science and machine learning to find the areas for improvement and increase efficiency. 

 

  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) – Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the foundation of digital transformation in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) industry. When it comes to technology, there is always BIM. BIM integrates structured and multi-disciplinary data and produces a digital representation of an asset throughout its lifecycle, starting from planning and designs to construction and operations. Apart from that, it also features clash detection, alerting users to potential designs and workflow errors so they can fix them beforehand. With BIM’s help, workers can view the BIM models as they work, and machine learning algorithms analyse the design to plan modular workflows.
